I am proud to say:
I have already taught lessons to many people of all ages and skill levels. Swimming is a great form of exercise, no matter what age you are or what skills you already have.
One of my clients Autumn, works as a fitness trainer at a gym and felt that the pool would be a great way to give her muscles a good break from the weight but still provide them with a great workout. We just worked on rhythm and breathing techniques and she had already improved by the end of the lesson. When I saw her a day or two later she expressed to me how the pool did "wonders for her muscles" as she felt "well rested and ready to hit the weights again."
Schools out for summer !- June Blog !
As I'm sure you all know summer time is here. This means the pool is a great place to spend time cooling off and having fun. With kids being out of school it allows me to give lessons to kids! Both me and the kids I've been giving private lessons to have had and equally fun experience while participating in the lesson! The greatest thing about seeing these kids take the lessons is how much they are enjoying the 30 lesson. They consider it fun not work! The grin a child gets when they finally learn how to to float or even take their first couple strokes on their own is priceless. That look alone reminds me of the reason I started Swimphilly in the first place.
I've already given around 20 lessons and I want to keep the movement going, Let's get Philly swimming this summer! If you want a lesson please feel free to contact me at swimphilly@gmail.com.
I also had a pair of clients who wished to get ready for summer swim league. So thats right its time to shake off those cobwebs and remind yourself of how and why we swim. We did alot of intervals to get that heart rate up. I also choose to go over certain drills and go over swim specific skills like start, flip turns and pull out. By the end of the 3 weeks the girls were more then ready to bring their a-game to the pool.
Here is a picture of my client practicing a dive. A strong start can give you a leg up in the competition!
Also I wanna give a shout out to my cityfitgirls for their post: 5 tips to make you succed in the pool!
