Flipturn Basics

Flip turns are great and really tend to help someone go further without realizing how tired they are. If you're training for any long distance sets, flipturns are a key addition to your repertoire. My first tip is that you should lead with your head. When your head goes underwater correctly your body follows. Correct foot placement is also important because it can give you a powerful advantage when you come off the wall. This means that your feet should be placed shoulder width apart. The last and final tip of the video is right before your turn you should take a hard stroke to try and start your turn onto the wall. If you need help, two kick boards will be helpful in getting used to the turn. Make sure you practice, because the more you do them the better you will get at them.
